Happy Friday I

Happy Friday folks!

This week I've mainly been taking care of my dog since he's been awful poorly.  He's got a growth inside of him and whilst it's small and hasn't grown to a size that will cause him problems - fingers crossed it stays this way - he still takes some sick days.  My family and I can't do anything about the growth as he's 9 years old and our vet advises against it because of his age and ill turns.  It's just about making sure he's comfortable, still has his quality of life and is a happy little doggy.

I took some me time this week to go and see Disney's Inside Out which just came out in the UK.  It wasn't what I was expecting to say the least, I wanted to see more of the emotions and how they function within us and how they control/affect our day to day lives.  I quite liked how the trailer depicted how arguments start particularly with fathers and daughters.  I liked how it gave insight to both sides of the argument and how things get heated to the point of exploding.  But the movie took off pretty quickly with the plot of some of the emotions needing to get back to headquarters, and left the story I was expecting in the wind.  It's a good film but to me it wasn't about the relationship of the young girl and her emotions, but rather the relationships and personalities of the emotions.  As I read in a review at some point, she [Riley] is the setting and the emotions are the characters.  Nonetheless, it is the kind of movie that reaches all areas of viewers emotions and has to be seen at least once by everyone.  Apparently it's became Hollywood's Biggest Box Office debut, taking Titanic's space.

I also finished up my free month of Netflix this week and I'm sad the free-ness is going.  During my free month I indulged in Once Upon A Time - which is an awesome show by the way - a bedtime movie every night and I made a start on Pretty Little Liars.  I've always heard people talking about Netflix and I've simply shrugged my shoulders since I've got Sky+ but I have to say I get it now.  There is something special about Netflix where I look forward to getting into bed and then deciding what I'm watching for the evening.  For now, I'll live without it since I do have Sky+ and get quite a good selection of movies on it, but I will renew my account when Once Upon A Time season 5 starts for sure.  I just wish I'd gotten the chance to try more TV shows like American Horror Story and shows they didn't have available like Scandal.

And tomorrow brings the weekend and I don't have any plans.  I'm actually feeling rather run down and ill, and I've been kept up in bed all snotty.  Pretty picture, right? I'll most likely spend the weekend relaxing, maybe making a start on reading Harry Potter and hopefully I'll feel better by Monday.  I still can't believe today is the last day of July and the end of good weather and summer - at least where I come from.  It's not long until I start college and I'll most likely spend August prepping for that no doubt.  I'm excited about it but the nerves will kick in I bet.
I hope everyone's had a good week and will have a great weekend! Kick it off with having a Happy Friday!!

My weekend has consisted of relaxing, getting some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and watching Aladdin and some other feel good movies.

Yankee Candles; Cosy Candles

Since early adolescence Yankee Candles have become a prominent part of my expenditure.  I've mainly always bought large jars and the occasional medium jar and not so long ago I invested in an electric tart warmer.   There are certain candles for certain moments and there are specific candles that make me feel even more at home than what I am.   Today I'm writing about cosy candles, candles I use whenever I feel down or want the atmosphere in the house to be warm and welcoming.  So far I've found only 3 that fit this bracket but they are perfect for me and I love them.

Black Coconut
My absolute favourite candle because of it's creamy and rich fragrance that fills the home with comfort.  I discovered this fragrance in a wax melt set and haven't looked back since - it makes me go 'mmm' whenever I walk into a room and smell it.  It is one of Yankees best fragrances, I highly recommend it, and would appreciate it as a gift from anyone.  It is coziness in a jar and gives any room it's burned in a tropical lift.
With is black wax it makes it a very versatile candle that can go with any decor for anyone who's fussy about that.

Shea Butter
My love for Shea Butter stems from the similarity it shares with Black Coconut since it is a rich and creamy candle too.  However, it has more of a creamy fragrance and the well known sunscreen fragrance we're acquainted with during summer.  This is my go to candle whenever I'm feeling down as I feel it warms the house therefore warms the mood/atmosphere.  It is the best comforting candle I've came across by Yankee and would recommend it for anyone who suffers from feeling sad more often than not.  It's going to be an excellent addition to homes during the winter months as it delivers a cosy ambiance when it's chilly outside.  And with it's creamy white wax colour it too goes with any decor!

Fireside Treats
It was Halloween time when I first burned Fireside Treats as it was very similar to Yankees Ghostly Treats Halloween special and it was fragrance of the month.  I've since bought it multiple times and burned it all year round - although I do suggest it as a colder month candle.  It has a mysterious burnt marshmallow fragrance allowing me to invision myself around a campfire making smores.  It's one of Yankees best candles since it's not only a yummy relatable food fragrance but it's also comforting one some levels, particularly during winter.  It was the perfect candle for fragrance of the month in October as it's a good introduction to the colder months and the start of cosy nights in by the fire with candy at Halloween and puddings at Christmas.  And just like the other two cosy candles above, it has a versatile wax suitable for any decor and any room.

Do you have those go to candles when you want to feel cosy? Let me know and I can try them to see if my cosy candle count goes above 3!
